Ailerons and Aileron Controls

The ailerons are located on the trailing edge of each wing. They cause the aircraft to bank or roll left and right.

The rotational motion on the yoke controls the ailerons. When the yoke is turned to the left, the left wing aileron tilts up and the right wing aileron tilts down. This tilts or banks the plane to the left. The inverse occurs when the yoke is turned right. This effect is caused by the air pushing the upward tilted wing downward and the downward tilted wing upwards. Refer to the video segment at the left for a visual demonstration.
